More Than Human: Robot Figure Drawing

Tuesday, September 30, 2025, 7–9pm

Free Registration

Join us at Canal Projects for More Than Human: Robot Figure Drawing Session, facilitated by artist Flo Giovanni Pacini.

Inspired by live figure drawing and figure drawing sessions held in museums, Robot Figure Drawing Session transforms Geumhyung Jeong’s robotic sculptures into our live models. The medical dummy limbs that Jeong attaches to her sculptures provide students with opportunities for anatomical realness while the robotics elements are a drawing challenge of their own.

Open to all levels. Space is limited and registration is required.

Canal Projects will provide charcoal, paper and boards. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials as well.

This workshop will be located in our ground level gallery, which is accessed by a small flight of stairs or an ADA accessible lift. Seats available for everyone.

Florencia De Giovanni Paciniis an Argentinian visual artist based in New York City. Trained through workshops in Argentina, Germany, Italy, and the U.S., she gathered fragments of classical traditions to develop her own method, merging technique with imagination. Her paintings explore tradition, memory, and the female body as a
site of both wound and strength, while foregrounding humanity’s deep interconnectedness with the rest of nature. She has exhibited internationally, including Art Basel Miami, the Argentine Embassy in Berlin, and Space 776 Gallery in Manhattan.
