Canal Projects Fellowship Fund in Korean Art

NYU Institute of Fine Arts / PhD Candidate

Fall 2026 – Spring 2031

The CANAL PROJECTS Fellowship Fund in Korean Art at the New York University Institute of Fine Arts is dedicated to supporting PhD students at NYU IFA conducting original research in Korean art history.

The fellowship addresses a critical need for sustained institutional funding by providing doctoral candidates with resources for archival, object-based, and interdisciplinary research on historically underexplored topics. By investing in emerging scholars, the fellowship aims to cultivate the next generation of museum curators, professors, and cultural leaders while advancing global scholarship of Korean art history and re-writing traditional art historical narratives.

Further information regarding the fellowship application timeline and eligibility requirements for IFA doctoral candidates will be released in the upcoming academic term.
